The Minimbah Fair
The Minimbah Fair was another celebration of creativity, collaboration and community spirit. The campus, namely the oval, turned into a wild hub of colour and fun. Stalls, music, food and activity, every corner full of the energy students brought to it.
Behind the scenes, the kids planned, promoted, costed and created, applying their learning in practical ways. From running stalls and handling money to welcoming visitors and solving problems as they popped up, everyone contributed to making the Fair work.
Families, friends and staff joined in, as they always do. Another night in the memory bank.

Chemical reactions giving flight to makeshift rockets. Flight might be a bit strong. Some air, maybe?

AJ Williams
AJ is a social worker, nurse, youth worker, and health worker of Aboriginal descent. Through his incredible storytelling, he aims to inspire individuals and communities to work more effectively within the Indigenous space.
Family History Expo
Minimbah and Penbanks Foundation - Year 2s unit of Inquiry is Where we are in Place and Time. The central idea is ‘We have personal and shared stories.’ Families came into the classrooms to walk through their expos, asked questions and learn more about one another.
Brain Surgeons
Year 10 Psychology used sheep's brains to understand the workings, naming each structure inside. Brave faces around the room, no one fainted.
Minimbah Assembly Rehearsal
Assemblies at Woodleigh are a lot more than standing quietly in neat rows, listening to announcements and instructions. They are run by the kid's themselves.
This week at Minimbah, they practised their roles for Thursday's assembly outside in the courtyard; reading aloud, presenting, listening to and encouraging each other. Learning really comes to life when kids are trusted to lead and contribute in meaningful ways.
The confidence was clear to see, and the live version delivered just that — confident speakers, attentive audiences and a sense of belonging to their school.
Pet Parade at Minimbah
The real-deal assembly—not just the rehearsal (see above)—at Minimbah this week gave us all an extra pep in our step. It began as Year 4 students introduced some unruly family members in the courtyard. This led perfectly into the much-loved Pet Parade, which was full of dogs and cats. But these days, we don't stop there: other loved companions also made an appearance, turning the assembly into a mad morning of fun, patting, doggy bags and giggles.
Pets were welcomed with smiles and gentle hands as students shared how they care for their animal friends and what they’ve learned. From early walks to careful handling, the parade revealed how pets teach empathy, patience and respect for all living things. Most importantly, we all left reminded that caring for our pets helps us become more thoughtful and compassionate people.

Awesome Three and Four Island
Years 3 and 4 worked hard on urban planning for their Island of ATFI, 'Awesome Three and Four Island'. Families were invited to tour ATFI and ask questions about the amazing, tiny worlds within it. There are mountains, rivers, ships, roads with tiny cars, clocktowers, hospitals, hotels and houses, all created by our students. Take a tour.
